Cleaning Hack: 3 MORE Ways To Clean Silver Jewelry
Due to the popularity of our last jewelry cleaning post, today we will be going over 3 NEW ways to clean jewelry. Since the last post was more general, this post will be specifically about silver jewelry. Silver needs to be cleaned more regularly than some other metals due to tarnish. So without further ado, let's get started.
1. Wash with dish soap. If your silver just needs a quick clean to maintain it's appearance, clean it up with a paper towel and some liquid dish soap. Then rinse it clean and dry thoroughly.
2. For a more substantial cleaning, try baking soda. Make a paste of baking soda and water and rub it on your jewelry with a clean cloth. The baking soda will provide just enough gentle abrasion to clear tarnish. Be sure to rinse and dry thoroughly.
3. Ketchup! You read that right. Ketchup can be very effective at removing tarnish from silver. Apply with a paper towel to your tarnished item and rinse and dry thoroughly.
